Snow in the Summer

Happy to report that I just finished mastering Jim Sonefeld’s solo debut, Snowman Melting.

If Jim’s name sounds familiar, it may be because the band he plays drums for (Hootie & the Blowfish) have sold 20+ million albums worldwide. Or, it may just be that you’re a fan of people who get paid to hit things (boxers, baseball players…drummers).

The album was produced by Francis Dunnery. Francis is a British-born musician/producer who has collaborated with artists like Lauryn Hill, Elton John, Carlos Santana, Robert Plant, and Anderson Bruford Wakeman Howe.

Brett Kull (of Echolyn fame) mixed it. Brett has a knack for being involved in interesting projects, and this is no exception. I’m always glad when I get to work with him.

I’m honored to have been asked to master the album, and was thrilled to hear Francis’ reaction on my answering system: “I just wanted to let you know I think you did an incredible job with the Jim Sonefeld project. I think it sounds absolutely fantastic! Thank you.”
