It’s come to our attention over the years that a common weakness in a lot of otherwise good recordings is the quality of the vocal microphone musicians use to record their tracks. Since people’s ears are most sensitive to the tonal characteristics of the human voice, this single aspect can make or break a listener’s perception of sonic quality.
For that reason, ZenMastering is offering its clients free access our microphones. Currently we’re loaning out our world-class Crowley and Tripp Naked Eye ribbon microphone.
What’s the catch? Well, it’s only available to musicians who use our mastering services, of course; and the microphone must be returned in the same condition is was delivered: perfect working order with no external signs of misuse. Otherwise, record away.
Our aim is to make your recording as good as possible, with mastering and more…no strings attached.

I just finished an album using ZenMastering’s Crowley & Tripp Naked Eye Ribbon mic. It was amazing! I did some back-to-back tests with the C&T mic and the inexpensive ribbon mic that I own. The difference was clear and obvious. You really get what you pay for with nice mics! It was amazing how much less compression and EQ I ended up using. The tracks just seemed to sit better in the mix.
ZenMastering already offers amazing quality work at a great price. This mic-lending program is icing on the cake. Take them up on it. . . just please have it back in time for my next project because I’m hooked!
